What is Algebra?
Algebra is a fundamental branch of mathmatics. You cannot study mathematics without studying algebra. Algebra is fundamental to most areas of math. But, what is algebra? We can define algebra in simple terms.
Defining Algebra
Algebra is math with variables. Algebra deals with numbers whose actual value is not yet known.
The knowledge of algebra helps us calculate with the unknown.
The ability to use the unknown makes algebra essential for science, engineering, physics, chemistry, business, finance and many other fields.
And, algebra is not difficult either. Once you have learned how to solve some fundamental algebraic equations, you will be able to solve almost all algebra problems.
What is an algebra equation?
An algebra equation is a math equation with some unknown variables. The unknown in algebra equations are usually denoted by x, y, or z. When solving an algebraic equation, you are trying to find the values of some of the unknown variables.
